getting started

After the amazing turn out last night I thought we should get right on the case. So, I found this web site that claimed we too could be blogging in 5 short mins. Wow, it really was only five minutes to set-up. Well folks here we are... the start of who knows what. Please let people know about the blog and lets see what happens. Brett

  3. HI Everyone, is this going to work? How are we supposed to submit our own posts? Brett, correct me if im wrong; currently you would have to post all info and everyone else would only be able to comment. Is that what you had in mind?

Talk to you later, Roy. p.s. dont forget Jason and Amandas house raising this weekend!

  4. Hey Roy, Welcome to the blog. My idea was to get something up and running. I have no control desires besides keeping us safe from legal problems if someone were to misuse the blog. Never having started a blog before it is definitely a learn as we go proposition. Over the next couple of weeks I hope those with opinions about how best to structure the blog will speak up. Thanks for the reminder about Jason and Amanda's house raising. Brett

  5. Hey there! I finally have a computer up and running again after several weeks without. Michelle and i had everything packed up for a couple of weeks so we could get some seamfilling and sanding done.
So i hope to able to post more often.
Two subjects that come to mind that deserve their own threads or conversations are kids soccer and Abe's Caledonia Daze(days).
So more later.. gotta get out and enjoy this beautiful day.

  6. As for the name downeastnews vs. Caledonia something or other....i think i agree with Theresa. Seems like everything around here is DownEast such-n-such. That's my two cents.

  7. Wednesday Night Soccer was a blast again this week. We had over a dozen kids plus adults this week, all smiles. The kids are really pretty good. Thanks to Rob for mowing the field... hope your boat still floats after all this rain.

  8. I got a call from Geoff yesterday telling me of the fantastic bash I missed cause it wasn't posted to the blog. Too bad for me eh? Anyway, I will try again to make contact with everyone who gave us an email address at the meeting and invite them to the blog. I will also add anyone interested to the "blog team" which will give them an increased level of control over the blog.

  10. I have just been sent the address of a site everyone should visit. This site is deadicated to helping communities organize, plan , and discuss the very problems we are all facing. Please have a look. Maybe it could figure into this summer gathering Messia would like to organize.
    www.tranistiontowns.org/
if that doesn't work try a google search for Transition towns Wiki

  12. I been thinking about the difficulty people seem to be having logging on to this site to post comments.I will do some looking around to see if there is a site with easier access.

  13. I've just had a brief look at the transitiontowns site. It looks very interesting. Perhaps a gathering would be a time to feel people out just about having an initial introduction night with perhaps the film to wathch in mid to late fall. I haven't had e-mails from the core list of possible event planners other than Roy re: the date and location of a gathering. If we do decide to do this, it should be soon with perhaps a rain date or location as. Perhaps posting it on the site plus e-mails and for phone tree would then get the word out. Melissa
